A Green Blueprint for The Future

 

Green Earth Village is a long-term vision for a new community in East Gwillimbury, shaped through years of collaboration between Signature Communities, Royalpark Homes, the Town of East Gwillimbury, the Region of York and other partners. Since 2008, those conversations, partnerships and planning efforts have helped guide what the community could become.

Green Earth Village is being designed as a connected, mixed-use community with homes, parks, trails, shops, services and future community infrastructure all working together. The vision is to create a place that supports everyday life while responding thoughtfully to growth, sustainability and the changing needs of the community over time.

  1. 2022

    The Green Light

    York Region approves the updated Official Plan and officially opens the door for urban development on the lands.

  2. 2023

    Time to Get Organized

    The Town of East Gwillimbury kicks off the Whitebelt Secondary Plan to bring structure and order to how this area will grow.

  3. 2025

    A Community Takes Shape

    Green Earth Village submits its Community Design Plan, putting real form to the future community across roughly 230 hectares.

  4. 2026

    A Major Win

    Green Earth Village is selected as the site for the Southlake Hospital expansion, adding a major anchor to the vision and momentum for the community.
